David Droschak launched Droschak Communications LLC, a full-service marketing and PR firm based in Apex, N.C., in 2005 after an award-winning career with The Associated Press spanning two decades.
Droschak Communications specializes in customized and personalized client public relations, marketing, consultation and strategic initiatives, along with extensive photographic and design services.
During his 20-year career with the largest news-gathering organization in the world, Droschak wrote more than 15,000 stories on people, places and events. He was honored with the Sports Writer of the Year award in North Carolina in 2003.
Droschak has spent 15 years as editor of Triangle Golf Today and Triad Golf Today, print and online golf publications regarded as the “No. 1 Source for Golf News in North Carolina.” He is also on the selection committee for the Carolinas Golf Hall of Fame.
He is the co-founder of the Festival D’Avion, a celebration of Freedom and Flight annually staged at the Moore County Airport in the North Carolina Sandhills since 2018, and was the communications director for the Pinehurst Concours vintage car showcase staged at Pinehurst Resort from 2013-2017.
Droschak grew up in Penn Hills, Pa., about five minutes from the famed Oakmont Country Club and was introduced to the game of golf as a caddie at Green Oaks Country Club in nearby Verona, Pa.
Droschak was the co-captain of the 1978 Penn Hills state championship baseball team, was a pitcher for 1982 Atlantic Coast Conference champion University of North Carolina, and pitched professionally for two years in the St. Louis Cardinals organization.
He is a two-time member of the Penn Hills High School Sports Hall of Fame, a high school that also produced NBA coaching legend George Karl, former All-Pro offensive lineman Bill Fralic and Los Angeles Rams two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald.
